Fabbrica Darlinghurst Presents: Penny’s Cheese Shop 3.0

Fabbrica Darlinghurst is excited to announce the winter edition of our neighbourhood collaboration with Penny’s Cheese Shop on Wednesday, June 24th.

Penny Lawson, Potts Point’s Queen of Cheese, is a cheese judge and cheesemonger. She set up Penny’s Cheese Shop in 2018 and fast became a much-adored local legend, championing Australian producers, with an impressive selection of international cheeses, condiments, and those infamous cheese toasties, vouched for by Nigella herself.

Following two sold-out collaborations in 2025, Lawson, Love Tilly Group’s Culinary Director Scott McComas-Williams and Fabbrica Executive Chef Damiano Balducci are joining forces once again, serving a special set menu for one night only.

Scott says, ‘We love our collabs with Penny and are really excited for round three. Dami and I have put together another cracking menu, this time championing Penny’s favourite winter cheeses.’

Penny adds, ‘I look forward to dinners with my fabulous friends over at Fabbrica, and can’t wait to be back there for the night. I’ve picked out some excellent cheeses and, as ever, am looking forward to chatting to everyone who joins us, and of course to trying the menu myself!’

You can expect a six-course feast ($85 per person) including bread and ‘butter’, the latter taking the form of Extravagant Triple Cream; prosciutto-wrapped, baked Bruny Island Cheese O.D.O. (one day old curd, drained overnight); and zucchini flowers, filled with Berry’s Oak Blue, drizzled with honey. Next a pair of pastas served with a leaf salad; potato and mint ravioli with Lilyarra Aran; baked ribbons of pizzoccheri, mushrooms and Long Paddock Ironbark; and mascarpone mousse with poached persimmon.

There will also be an optional wine pairing available ($60) on the night, curated by Group Sommelier, James Griffin.

While vegetarians can be catered for, unfortunately other dietaries cannot be accommodated on this occasion.
